The Laugharne Weekend - 15th - 17th April 2011 The Laugharne Weekend - 15th - 17th April 2011
"We wanted the festival to celebrate Welsh/Celtic literature as well as cult writers, outlaw voices and young musicians. We wished to pay tribute to the spirit of Dylan Thomas rather than a direct tribute to the man. While Dylan is still thought of primarily as a poet he was also a great short story writer, a film script writer and was rumoured to be planning to work with Stravinsky. "

http://www.bhf.org.uk/get-involved/events/view-event.aspx?ps=1001034 Help us celebrate our 50th Birthday by aiming to raise £50 sponsorship for your event - FIFTY for FIFTY! Just a pound for every year the BHF has been doing it's life saving pioneering work! Last year saw nearly 1400 people take part and this year we hope to encourage more of you to pedal you way to fitness whilst also raising vital funds for the British Heart Foundation at the South Wales Bike Ride. This year with 3 routes to choose from why not join us and take on the challenge of the new 50 mile route. This route takes in some of South Wales' great views and offers a tougher challenge to those who think they can take it. If however you don't fancy the distance and hills on this new route, why not continue with our 16 and 29 mile routes we have come to love over the years. The 16 mile route covers half its distance on a cycle path whilst the 29 mile route ventures further West towards the stunning Gower Coastline. The new 50 mile route will extend from the original route at the Fforest Fach junction, continuing onwards along the A483 and towards Penllergaer. From there it will take you towards Pontarddulais, Llanedi and back to Pontarddulais, where it then heads to Gorseinon, Loughor and back towards Waunarlwydd where it will join the existing route.
