View of the hills in the Amman Valley, seen from the house. There is a road and then pathway up the hill which makes for an easy and pleasant stroll. A little stream runs down the hill at the side of the path, so the walk is accompanied by the laughing sound of water and birdsong.
  • Living Room

The Bathroom is upstairs next to the Single and Twin Bedrooms. The window opens wide onto a view across the garden towards the hills and has a wide window-seat, where you may find yourself sitting to toast the sunset.

  • The Old Schoolhouse, by the Bus Stop
This is the lovely building of the Old Schoolhouse that has seen so many of the children of the Valleys pass through its doors. It is no longer used as a school, but you will see it, set back across a small field by the bus stop. It has an air of tranquil wisdom tempered with a touch of sadness as it stands quietly dreaming of the laughter and the sound of footsteps of its many children.
  • View of Cwmgors and the Road Looking in the Direction of Ammanford.
Photo taken from the bus stop diagonally across the road from the cottage. It shows the road following its pleasant route along the Amman Valley toward Ammanford, the nearest town. The valley has scattered villages and is crossed by many streams and rivers. These are the hills that provided a wealth of coal that was exported all over the world. They are the inspiration for many of the songs sung by Welsh choirs and are full of history, folk tales and legends.
