	The National Botanic Garden of Wales The National Botanic Garden of Wales From Another Kingdom is the first major exhibition in the UK to focus on the fascinating world of fungi – and it is showing at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on from 19th March 2011 to 28th February 2013. A Child’s Garden in Wales will be with us until the late summer of 2012 and is sited in the slip garden of the Double Walled Garden. It evokes a child’s garden in the South Wales coalfields, set in 1947, just after the end of the Second World War. This is a Silver Award winner from the 2011 Chelsea Flower Show. Outdoor Artworks The Garden has a regular programme of site based art, usually created by Wales based artists. Indoor Artworks Stables Courtyard Gallery March – April 2012. Although not an art exhibition, Inspirational Botanists – Women in Wales, features plant illustrations and photography, and has been wonderfully designed by students from Coleg Sir Gar’s Graphic and Design Department. Free Talks and Tours We run a variety of free talks and tours of the Garden, mainly during the peak holiday periods. We’ll advertise special themed tours here and on our What’s On page. Garden visitors have the choice of taking four trails. Take a Magical Mystery Tour – a fun trail of the weird and wonderful aspects of the Garden. Be prepared to be asked to kiss a loved one, hug a healing stone, make a wish, play a tune and listen for an echo. Green Technology Trail - follow our new cartoon character, Lili Lloyd, as she takes you round ways we generate micro-energy, conserve water, grow organically and build sustainably. Waun Las National Nature Reserve - we’ve created a network of paths to take you across our organically farmed meadows and through Pont Felin Gat, a beautiful ancient woodland rich in historic relics from the Middleton Regency Park. Sculpture Cymru Trail 2011 features outdoor sculptures created by Sarah Tombs, Perryn Butler, Paul Kincaid, Dilys Jackson, Deborah Lewis and Susan Roberts http://www.gardenofwales.org.uk/
	The National Showcaves Centre and Dinosaur Park The National Showcaves Centre for Wales Just over half an hour's drive from the Lothlorien Cottage. Visit the famous Dan-yr-Ogof cave or Cathedral Cave, take a leisurely guided tour, or do some more strenuous caving. Plan your visit to the attraction and allow time to wander round the dinosaur park and take convincing photos of your family being stalked by dinosaurs.Voted by the British Public as being Britian's finest natural wonder, this makes an exceptionally entertaining and memorable day out. http://www.showcaves.co.uk/
